Let’s talk about Cardio… Boy do I hate it?!

This morning I went to the gym and did a 30 minute ab blast, I felt super good and very productive and like I had a good workout to start my day off.

It made me motivated to then go to the gym at night again that’s working out twice in one day (say whattt), but this time I had to face a dreaded cardio session… Dun dun dunn.

Cardio is my weakest area, I struggle with it so much, that’s why tonight was my first cardio session in like 2 months (maybe more but we’ll go with 2 ;))

But Cardio Vascular excersice is extremely good for you, and here is why;

  • It elevates your heart rate
  • You burn calories
  • You are able to lose excess fat
  • It increases metabolism

And because it does all of the above, along with other great benefits, it’s difficult. It takes time and it takes a lot of energy and motivation.

For part of my Cardio workout tonight I did 20 minutes on the treadmill, I really  struggle to just run and keep focused, the way I get through it is continually giving myself pep talks “you can do it” “10 minutes left” I’m sure you find yourself doing this, maybe that’s the only way to get through it?!

Even though cardio is hard work, and I feel deflated after it, I know it’s good for my body and important that I don’t forget about it (no matter how much I try to)

My goal this week is to find another type of Cardio excersice that I can do, instead of just a normal workout in the gym!

That is the beauty of this kind of excersice, it can be from football to ice skating… If it gets the heart pumping it is all good!!

Here are a few examples for you;

  • Swimming
  • Skipping
  • Basketball
  • Tennis
  • Rugby
  • Hockey
  • Dancing
  • Gymnastics
  • Trampolining
  • Thai boxing
  • Boxing
  • Zumba
  • Running

You just need to remember… You can do it, it may be hard, but it’s totally worth it!
